This month’s Stylish Monday features how we wear green. Do you have a favorite shade of green?
Color Meaning: Meaning of The Color Green. … Green, the color of life, renewal, nature, and energy, is associated with meanings of growth, harmony, freshness, safety, fertility, and environment. Green is also traditionally associated with money, finances, banking, ambition, greed, jealousy, and wall street.
Spring/Summer Pantone Shades of Green 2019
FTF decided to look into what shades of green are going to be trending for spring/summer 2019. I was curious to see if I already had things in my wardrobe that I could style and share especially since my initial thought was, “I don’t wear green!”
Correction – I have very few things in any shade of green!
#6. Pantone 17-0542 Pepper Stem
Numbered 17-0542, this zesty piece of nature will bring bountiful fields and green pastures to mind. It screams healthy, and was a staple for the men’s collection at Louis Vuitton. It might not be as bright as some of the other top spring 2019 colors by Pantone, but it certainly attracts attention, working perfectly as an accent piece with a brighter or deeper hue. Pepper Stem adds flavor to any outfit.
#11. Pantone 18-0416 Terrarium Moss
The third hue on the list of Pantone’s spring/ summer 2019 colors that brings nature to mind is Terrarium Moss, resulting in a new-found appreciation for the flourishing foliage around us. It is a deep version of Pepper Stem, with lots of both female and menswear lineups incorporating it into their designs. The yellows and greens are certainly natural pairings from among the top Pantone spring 2019 color trends.
CAMO
Camouflage might fall into the pepper stem and terrarium moss category of green; and I happen to have lots of it! The camo trend has been going strong for some time. Are you a fan of camo?
The Obvious Wear’in of Green – St. Patrick’s Day
Isn’t everyone Irish for one day a year – March 17th! Doesn’t everyone have something green to wear for the day to celebrate good ‘ole St. Patrick? Do you get dressed up and celebrate?
Here’s how my millennial friend Brittany and I styled our St. Patrick’s day looks. I couldn’t resist this rainbow tee with gold Lucky! I paired it with my gold glitter jewelry because there’s always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
SHOP THE LOOK
Green Top
Green cold shoulder, ruffled top, floral pants with touches of green and green suede pumps round out my “emerald” green wardrobe! I purchased this whole look last year as I had nothing in solid green and wanted to match the pants with something other than pink! The details in both the top and the pants are what drew my attention! Love the side slit in the pants and the tied waist with a tassel drawstring!
The same green cold shoulder, ruffled top also paired well with my navy and white striped jacket. This picture was taken last year as were the pictures above.
SHOP TOPS
Sweaters with Green
As mentioned, I only own the solid green top. Everything else has a touch of green in it like my sweater. I do own several things with touches of green. So if it’s not your color to wear think about items with green in them. I lean towards lime green and love it paired with this color of blue!
This coat is one of my FAVORITE purchases this winter! I’d wear it every day if I could. The good news is that it comes in lots of colors including green!
SHOP GREEN FAUX FUR COAT & VEST
Here’s another sweater with a green stipe. Does that count as wearing something green? I say yes! Love these bright colors during the dull, cold, cloudy days of winter! I think you could pull this sweater off on St. Patrick’s day as it reminds me of the rainbow! Where’s my pot of gold?!
Green Try On at Stein Mart
There were lots of green options at Stein Mart so I was excited for my try ons! Here were my top picks that made it into the fitting room with me.
This high/low top has great lines, interesting sleeves and is figure flattering. I had black pants on already but it could easily be paired with white pants or jeans and dressed up or down so lots of options. Winner!
This green, black and white plaid top is super cute with fun sleeves and tie details. Decided to try it with a pair of green jeans!
This green floral Vince Camuto dress is just darling and has POCKETS! It was so comfortable on but I knew I’d be freezing cold at this point in the year. Therefore, I paired it with this super cute crocheted sweater. Two cute looks! Do you ever style a dress with a sweater or top over it? It’s a clever way to get multiple looks.
I was really, really hopeful that these two jumpsuits would fit me. I have a long torso and am very difficult to fit when it comes to jumpsuits. These didn’t work on my body but thought they’re so cute they needed to be shared! I was a big fan of the green, white and black striped jumpsuit!
This green pattern mix was so appealing! I was done trying on but decided to include it in this line up of green options!
If green isn’t your color to wear, how about adding accessories to pull in the color! Stein Mart had a great selection of purses, jewelry and scarves!
