Cozy Knit Wear – January 2020

Matching knit sets may appear to be yet another pandemic-era leisure trend. Now that the weather has caught up with the current season (it’s currently darn cold here in Illinois), I only have one thing on my brain: knitwear. Gone are the days when sweater season meant just crewnecks versus turtlenecks versus cardigans. Now, the knitwear category is seemingly endless with possibilities, which makes shopping for the cozy staples one of the highlights of my winter wardrobe journey. The rise of two- and three-piece ribbed knit sets has been fast and fierce, making them a definite wardrobe contender as fall turns to winter and the temperatures have dropped significantly. One of the great things about these sets is that you can wear them in so many ways, thus allowing for countless outfit possibilities. Quarter-zip knits are equal parts turtleneck, cardigan, and polo sweater, making them just the versatile item your winter wardrobe needs. You can find the sets in so many colors…such an easy way to look put together all while being warm and comfy! That’s winter winning in my styling book!

Cozy Knit Wear Set Look 1

This knit wear set is from Target and it is super duper comfy and soft! I could easily lounge around the house in it but I wore it out for appointments on our first snowy winter day! You could also dress it up by adding boots or heels making it work appropriate. The half zip sweater and puffy sleeves adds some interest to the top. The two pieces can easily be worn with other items providing you with lots of styling options! As you know, I’m always cold and layering on my shacket was an easy styling option. I specifically chose this camel color (although it’s called yellow when ordering it) to match my shacket. This neutral color will be easily paired with almost any other color. (To see a previous blog post on how to style shackets (a current trend that continues to go strong, click HERE.)

Even my fury love Maize approves of my outfit! She might have bitten off a piece of tassel on my necklace…oh the joyous years of puppydom!

Knit wear and sweaters are my absolute go tos all winter long! I’m a sweater loving girl and can’t even begin to tell you how many fill my closets! Sweater weather might have to be a post all it’s own! Stay tuned!

Suzanne – Ask Suzanne Bell – “I finally bought a Shacket, and better yet, she’s a sweater! Truly, one of the most versatile pieces I’ve bought all season, I’ve found this multi-functioning knit piece can be worn as a jacket, sweater, tunic or layering piece – how fab is that? And since today’s post is all about knits, I thought I’d show you a few ways I’ve styled this neutral-colored plaid wonder this past week.”

Andy – Pearls and Pantsuits – “Trend alert! Cable knits are having a moment, so I splurged on this neutral colored cable knit dress from Stitch Fix, and styled it with my tall suede boots. It’s a cozy look, and perfect for winter! Pop on over to the blog to see a few more knit pieces and for my style tips for knitwear for pear shapes.”

Nancy –  Nancy’s Fashion Style – “Knit dresses! Can’t do without in winter, they are just so cozy and warm. This one is a bit older but I love to wear it, especially with sneakers. Can it get any more comfortable?”

Nicole – High Latitude Style – “I have loved knit jumpers all my life. My late mom knitted many of them when I was a kid. I remember a bottle green one with white shoulder section and orange embellishments, a citrus A-line, and a matching skirt and cardigan ensemble in red with green and black stripes. She used acrylic yarn and created super soft, cozy pieces. Her girlfriend, however, knitted wool sweaters. They were so itchy.”

Michele – On Instagram as Seechele_styles – “Kicking knits up a notch in my knit sustainable cream boots with a thrifted cream knit ribbed turtleneck.”

Emma – The Style Splash – “I probably spend half the year in knitwear of some kind so I have acquired quite a collection over the years. This bright orange sweater with frill detailing is hard to beat though – I love the colour, plus it’s super soft and cosy. It’s great to pair with another bright hue or team with neutrals.”

Shelbee – Shelbee on the Edge – “This leopard coatigan is one of my favorite knit pieces that I own. I wear it literally all fall and winter long with all sorts of different outfits. Stop by my blog to see what I have styled underneath…hint…it’s more knits!”

Lucy – Lucy Bertoldi.com  “Loving how this cute crochet cardi ties together the whole jumpsuit look.  Making it feel cozy and fun- for the perfect casual chic styling!”

Amy – Amy’s Creative Pursuits –  “Living in a cold climate, I survive the winters in cozy knits like this thick cowl neck sweater and warm leggings.”

Joy –   Joyous Styling    “Cozy knits are so yummy in the colder temperatures. This sweater knit skirt is on sale under $23.00 dollars. I love it so much I have it in Ivory. http://liketk.it/3rVMS
