Good News – There are More Options!

The average American woman is a size 14 so why is it that so many stores only carry pieces up to a size 12?  If they do offer additional sizes why are they in some remote corner of the store?  The myth is “plus size women don’t shop”. What a load!  

The good news is things are changing.  New designer, Melissa McCarthy, requires stores that carry her line, Seven7, to put her clothes in the same area as all the other lines – no putting Melissa in the corner! Target and ModCloth are two retailers that unveiled swim campaigns starring women of all sizes.  You can log on to ModCloth and see plus sizes fully integrated into the site.  

US teens are changing the fashion world too.   They are purchasing less from the juniors section and significantly more in the plus size markets.   Some of FTF’s favorite places to shop for plus size clothing are below.

ModCloth bills itself as a really fun, friendly spot for style and decor that’s as expressive and unique as you are!
